In short
AdRaze does not collect, store or send any information about you or what you do online. Everything the extension does happens locally in your browser.
What's stored on your computer
- The list of sites where you've paused AdRaze.
- Counters for how many popups and redirects have been stopped.
This is saved using the browser's own storage (chrome.storage) and never leaves your computer. If you uninstall AdRaze, it's gone.
Permissions and why they're needed
- declarativeNetRequest: blocks ads and trackers using Chrome's built-in filtering.
- Access to all websites: needed to hide empty ad slots and stop popups on the pages you visit. Page content is not read and is never sent anywhere.
- webNavigation: to recognize popup windows opened by a page and close them if they lead to ads or dangerous sites.
- scripting and activeTab: inserts style rules that hide ads and shows stats for the tab you have open.
- storage: saves your paused sites and counters locally.
Filter lists
AdRaze ships with filter lists from EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Frellwit's Swedish Filter, uBlock Origin, AdGuard and Peter Lowe. The lists are bundled with the extension. No requests about which pages you visit are sent to anyone.
Third parties
AdRaze does not sell, share or transfer any data to third parties, because no data is collected.
Open source
AdRaze is open source under GPL-3.0, so anyone can check exactly what the extension does.
